Long mountain centre pony trekkingis a fully licensed family run centre. We welcome visitors of all ages and abilities. All treks are accompanied by friendly experienced guides who know the surrounding mountains and bridleways. All the horses are carefully chosen for their kind nature and sensible temperament.
Long mountain centre can accommodate treks of all sizes with ponies ranging from small quiet children ponies (12hh) up to large cross welsh cobs (16hh), capable of providing an exciting and exhilarating ride for the more accomplished rider. All our horses/ponies are sturdy and sure-footed, suitable for the beginner and the more experienced riders.
On arrival at the centre basic tuition is given to all trekkers. We will provide you with a riding hat, which complies with the latest health and safety requirements.Riders of all standards can enjoy a days riding, the pace is walk and trot with the occasional canter as the terrain allows.

We can accommodate hourly, half day and full day treks all year round. Evening treks can be arranged in the summer months.
Picnic rides can also be arranged.
Hacks & Trail Rides:
Hacking & Trail Rides can be arranged for the more experienced riders who like a slightly faster pace and for the more adventurous
Clothing
For your safety and comfort we recommend that you wear suitable footwear i.e. shoes or boots with a smooth sole and a low heel and clothing should be loose fitting and comfortable. Waterproofs and gloves are advisable.
Important
Horse riding is classified as a high-risk sport and it is advisable to seek independent personal accident insurance if so required. Although riders are covered by insurance, we (the owners) are under no legal obligation in respect of loss, damage or injury, at the same time every precaution for your welfare and safety will be taken.

We are licensed with the Shropshire Council, who annually check our horses and ponies with a full veterinary inspection, .
We regularly do risk assessment analysing, ways to improve our facilities
When you arrive for your trek you are requested to fill in a client information form in the case of an emergency of any kind so that we can assist you in the best possible way. We are trained in basic First Aid should you need our help.
Safety hats, of the up-to-date Standard, are available and must be worn We recommend that you wear tight fitting, long trousers shorts are not allowed and bring along a coat just in case the weather does change . Gloves with grips can be a great help we can provide coats and gloves if you forget.
